Community Guidelines
Last updated: 30 September 2026
Hey, welcome to Sundae.
Sundae is a voice-first community for gay and queer men, whatever words you use for yourself and however they change. It's for friends, dates and finding your people. Sundae is members-only: everyone here was invited by a member or applied, and every application was reviewed by a real person. These guidelines keep Sundae the place you applied to. By using Sundae you agree to follow them, along with our Terms of Use.
TL;DR
- Be yourself. Real name, real age, real photos, your own voice.
- What happens on Sundae stays on Sundae. Never out anyone. Never share someone's voice, photos or messages outside Sundae: no screenshots, no forwards.
- Keep it honest. No fake profiles, no scams, no spam.
- Don't sell. Sundae isn't a marketplace.
- Respect everyone. No hate, no slurs, no exclusion lists.
- Look after yourself and each other. Help is listed below.
- Flirting yes, explicit no. No nudity anywhere, private chats included. Consent comes first, every time.
- Adults only. Anything involving minors means an immediate ban and a report to the authorities.
- No violence, nothing illegal.
1. Be yourself
Use your real first name and your real age. Your photos must show you, and your voice must be your own.
- Don't pretend to be anyone else, whether a real person, a public figure or a character.
- Don't use photos of someone else, or photos or voices generated, cloned or altered by AI.
- Don't lie about your age, where you are, or what you're looking for.
- One person, one account. Don't share, sell or hand over your account.
2. Privacy: never out anyone
For a lot of members, being seen on Sundae isn't safe everywhere. On Sundae, discretion is a rule, not a favour.
- Don't tell anyone outside Sundae that a specific person is on it.
- The voice answers someone records for you are for you. Don't download, screen-record, re-upload, forward or play them for anyone else. The same goes for photos, profiles, messages and transcripts.
- Don't share anyone's workplace, address, location or other personal details, inside or outside Sundae.
- Don't use someone's voice to train, clone or imitate them.
- Screenshots and screen recordings: film and share your own profile and the app as much as you like — that's how Sundae grows. But nobody else may be recognisable without their OK: hide or blur other members' faces, names and voices. Private chats are never for sharing.
- Threatening to reveal something about someone, and sextortion, mean an immediate permanent ban and a report to the authorities.
3. Honesty
Say what you're here for, and mean it. Your photos, your age and your answers should be current and true.
4. Scams and spam
- Never ask anyone for money, gifts, crypto, bank or card details, or codes.
- No romance scams, catfishing or "investment opportunities".
- No bots, automated or bulk messages, and no copy-pasted answers sent to everyone.
- If someone asks you for money, report them. We will never contact you to ask for your login code or your payment details.
5. Solicitation
Sundae is for connecting, not for selling.
- Don't advertise or sell anything, including products, services, events, parties, followers or accounts.
- No sex work and no paid "arrangements" of any kind.
- Linking your Instagram is fine. Using Sundae to push people to paid content is not.
6. Respect everyone
Everyone here belongs, whatever their body, age, race, background or way of being a man.
- No slurs, harassment, threats, bullying, mockery or pile-ons.
- No hate or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, body, age, disability, HIV status, gender identity or expression. That includes femmephobia, transphobia and biphobia.
- No exclusion lists in your profile or answers ("no fats", "no femmes", "no Asians"…). Your preferences are yours; you don't need to post them as rules.
- Not interested? Skipping is enough. Nobody is owed an explanation, and nobody deserves an insult.
7. Self-harm and mental health
Hard things come up, and it's okay to talk about them. Don't encourage, promote or glorify self-harm, suicide or eating disorders. If someone tells you they're struggling, take it seriously, point them to the help below, and report the conversation if you think they're in danger.
If you're struggling, you're not alone:

- In an emergency: call your local emergency number (112 across Europe, 911 in the United States, Canada and Mexico).
8. Sexual content and consent
Flirting yes, explicit no.
- No nudity and no sexually explicit content anywhere on Sundae: profiles, photos, voice and private chats alike.
- Flirting is welcome. Before taking a conversation somewhere more personal, ask, and wait for a clear yes.
- "No", silence or a block is an answer. Don't push, guilt-trip or insist.
- Never pressure anyone into sending photos, meeting up, or anything else.
- Sharing someone's intimate images without their consent means an immediate permanent ban.
9. Adults only: zero tolerance
Sundae is for people 18 and over, everywhere.
- Accounts belonging to anyone under 18 are removed.
- Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Any content that sexualises a minor, and any contact with someone you know or suspect is a minor, means an immediate permanent ban. We report it to the authorities (NCMEC in the United States, the competent authority elsewhere).
- If you think someone on Sundae is under 18, report them.
10. Violence
- No threats, and no promoting or glorifying violence, weapons, terrorism or violent groups.
- No content that shows or celebrates hurting people or animals.
- If you're in immediate danger, call the emergency number where you are first, then report the person on Sundae.
11. Illegal activity
- Don't use Sundae for anything illegal where you or the other person are.
- No buying, selling or arranging drugs, including "party and play".
- No trafficking, exploitation or coercion of any kind.
Meeting in real life: meet somewhere public, tell a friend where you're going, sort out your own way home, and leave whenever you want.
How we enforce these guidelines
- Every member is reviewed by a person before getting in, and every report is read by a person.
- You can block or report anyone from their profile or from a conversation. Blocking takes effect straight away, and reports are confidential.
- Depending on what happened, we may remove content, send a warning, suspend the account or ban it permanently. Some things mean an immediate permanent ban: anything involving minors, outing threats, sextortion, violence and scams.
- Banned members can't come back with a new account.
- We never disclose a member's orientation, messages or voice to anyone unless the law requires it. See our Privacy Policy.
